Kinds or Types of Verb

       As we have shared in the previous post that a Verb is an action word in a sentence that describe what the subject is doing. And for continuing our discussion about VERB, here we are going to discuss about Kinds or Types of Verb.

       Actually, there are two groups of main verbs, action verbs (Transitive Verbs and Intransitive Verbs) and no-action verbs (To Be and Linking Verbs), but we break down into four Kinds types of main verbs. And Helping Verbs. (Also read : Kinds and Examples of Auxiliary TO BE)

  1. Transitive Verb

Transitive verbs are those action verbs that can have a noun attached directly to them.

Examples:  

  • She writes a book.
  • They hit ball,
  • The students answer questions.
  1. Intransitive Verb

Example:

  • We walk to the drug store.
  • He slept on the sofa.
  • they comply with the regulations.

The verb to be can serve either as a main verb or as an auxiliary verb. When it acts as a main verb, it typically couples a grammatical subject with an adjective(predicate adjective). read more

Definition or Meaning of Biography

      A biography is the story of a person’s life, written by another. Also known as life-writing and history of the life. This gives an account or detailed description about the life of a person. It entails basic facts such as childhood, education, career, relationships, family and death.

      Biography is a literary genre that portrays the experiences of all these events occurred in the life of a person mostly in a chronological order. Unlike a resume or profile, biography provides life story of a subject, highlighting different aspects of his/her life. read more

Types or Kinds of Adverb

       There are nine parts of speech in English. They are nouns, pronouns, adjective, verb, adverb, conjunction, article, preposition, and interjection. Here, I want to share about adverb. (Also read : Recreation to Sendang Biru Beach)

       An adverb is a word or set of words that modifies (describes) verb. They give more detail about the action (verb).

Example:

He speaks slowly.

Slowly” is an adverb for describing/modifying the way he speaks.

How does he speak? Slowly.

Adverb will generally answer the question “How”.

Some adverb are also used to modify an adjective.

       Adverb that do this are: very, extremely, really, totally, absolutely, quite, fairly, well. These are normally placed before the adjective.

Examples:

He speaks very slowly.

He is totally crazy.

      Actually there are more kinds of adverb expressing different meaning than I’ll share, but for effectiveness of understanding I’ll share the common ones.

       Have a nice meeting to my beloved readers. Here I want to share grammar edition. It is about conditional sentence. Conditional sentence is also known as Conditional Clause or If Clause plays an important role in grammar. It describes a condition and the result that follows. Conditional sentence is made up of two parts: the if-clause (condition) and the main clause (result that follows). (Also read : Function of Present Continuous Tense)

There are three types of Conditional Sentence.

  1. Conditional Sentences Type I
  2. Conditional Sentences Type II
  3. Conditional Sentences Type III

Conditional Sentences Type I

Usage

       Conditional Sentences Type I refer to the future. An action in the future will only happen if a certain condition is fulfilled by that time. We don’t know for sure whether the condition actually will be fulfilled or not, but the conditions seems rather realistic – so we think it is likely to happen.
