      Have you ever gone to Sumenep in Madura Island? If you have, I believe that you have also already visited Keraton and Museum of Sumenep. And in this post, I want to share the information about Keraton and Museum of Sumenep. (also read : Surabaya Heroes Monument)

      Keraton and Museum of Sumenep is located in the center of the capital of Sumenep Regency. It is about two hundred meters eastern of Sumenep “Agung” Mosque or one hundred meters eastern of Adipura Park. The old building on the right side of the road is a place for keeping a gold carriage, a gift from Queen of England to Sumenep King. Besides that, it is also used to keep other inheritance, like; old chairs, old table and the other inheritance.

      To reach the center of Sumenep town, tourists have to cross the northern coast of Java through two ways. The first is through Suramadu Bridge and second through the Port of Tanjung Perak, Surabaya toward Port Kamal, Bangkalan, Madura. The Kamal Port and Suramadu Bridge are located at the western end of Madura island, while the location of Keraton Sumenep is at the eastern edge of the island. It is about 100 km from Kamal Port or Suramadu Bridge. The trip from the Port or the Bridge to the city Sumenep Kamal can be reached by bus or minibus or their own vehicle with a long trip about 3 hours. read more

       Recreation to Lombang Beach. Hi, my beloved visitors! Have ever gone to Madura Island? If you have ever gone there, I am sure that there are many places you have passed through because in Madura Island there are four regencies, namely Bangkalan, Sampang, Pamekasan and Sumenep. And every regency there are many places for destination.

       In this occasion, however, I want to share about one place in Sumenep for destination, especially foer recreation destination. This place is Lombang Beach.

      Lombang Beach is one of the best tourist destination for recreation around the beach in Sumenep Regency. This beach is also one of the most beautiful beaches on the island of Madura. Lombang Beach is located northeast side of Sumenep. It is about 25 kilometers from the city of Sumenep. It is exactly located in the Lombang Village, Batang-batang District, Sumenep Regency. It can be reached about an hour from the city of Sumenep or five hours from the city of Surabaya.

       Lombang Beach has beautiful scenery. The sand of the beach is white. There are many spruce fir farmers that sell their spruce fir bonsai trees. Obviously, Lombang beach bordered by thousands of natural spruce fir (casuarinas) that make the beach feels fresh. This Casuarinas Equisetifolia (Cemara Udang) is naturally growth along Lombang beach and it is very famous in the world, because Casuarinas Equisetifolia can live only in Indonesia and China, so that it feels calm and comfortable. read more

     Recreation to Madura Island. General information about Madura Island

     Madura is the name of the island located in the northeast of East Java. Madura Island is one of the largest island in the province of East Java. Since June 2009, the area known as the producer of salt has been linked with a giant bridge named National Suramadu Bridge (inaugurated by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono). The island has a letter of motor vehicle itself, the letter is “M“.

     Wide area of Madura is approximately 5250 km2 (smaller than the island of Bali), with a population more than 4 million people.

Madura Island consist of four regencies, namely:

Bangkalan

Sampang

Pamekasan

Sumenep

       Each Regency has its own characteristics, particularly languages, such as pronunciation, mention, dialect and intonation look different.

     Ethnic Madurese has big population in Indonesia, numbering around 20 million. They came from Madura Island and the surrounding islands, such as Gili Raja, Sapudi, Raas, and Kangean. In addition, many Madurese living in the eastern part of East Java called Horse Poultice region, from northern Pasuruan to Banyuwangi. Madurese who live in Situbondo and Bondowoso, and eastern Probolinggo, Jember, have the most number and rarely speak Javanese, also including North Surabaya and part of Malang. read more
