Have you ever gone to Sumenep in Madura Island? If you have, I believe that you have also already visited Keraton and Museum of Sumenep. And in this post, I want to share the information about Keraton and Museum of Sumenep. (also read : Surabaya Heroes Monument)
Keraton and Museum of Sumenep is located in the center of the capital of Sumenep Regency. It is about two hundred meters eastern of Sumenep “Agung” Mosque or one hundred meters eastern of Adipura Park. The old building on the right side of the road is a place for keeping a gold carriage, a gift from Queen of England to Sumenep King. Besides that, it is also used to keep other inheritance, like; old chairs, old table and the other inheritance.
To reach the center of Sumenep town, tourists have to cross the northern coast of Java through two ways. The first is through Suramadu Bridge and second through the Port of Tanjung Perak, Surabaya toward Port Kamal, Bangkalan, Madura. The Kamal Port and Suramadu Bridge are located at the western end of Madura island, while the location of Keraton Sumenep is at the eastern edge of the island. It is about 100 km from Kamal Port or Suramadu Bridge. The trip from the Port or the Bridge to the city Sumenep Kamal can be reached by bus or minibus or their own vehicle with a long trip about 3 hours.
