Drama Crying Stone

 The following post is a video of Narrative Text about drama of folklore. In this we share the story of the Crying Stone. This video is the show of students’ group from IX-A class, Junior High School (SMP) 1 Tarik, Sidoarjo, East Java. (Also read : Story of Snow White and Dwarfs)

 The purpose of publishing this video is giving appreciation to the students for their effort to increase their courage in improving their speaking skill and act performance. Our other goal in publishing this video is to support their other friends and all readers, especially everyone who are still studying in Junior High School, so they are not embarrassed in conveying their idea and their ability in action.

 Although the performance of the presentation is not as good as the real artists, however, the video of presentation below can be as an evidence that our students can improve and perform their skill in achievement of their ability in action to implement English Material, especially combination of speaking skill and act performance.  Once upon a time, there were a king and his queen who lived in the kingdom of Belinyu. They lived happily. All the royal people loved them because they ruled their kingdom wisely.  But unfortunately, they had not been blessed with children. That’s why the King and the queen really hoped to get a child as the successor to the royal throne. Until one night, the queen had a dream of meeting a turtle.  “O, Queen, don’t be sad. You have to be happy because soon you will have a daughter. If your baby is born, give this Komala necklace to your child, “said the Turtle.

 The queen was very happy to hear the news. She also received the turtle gift necklace with flowers. Then she woke up from her dream and found the Komala Necklace in her hand. She then told her dream to the King. The king was very happy to hear it. They are very happy because the long wait to have a child would finally come true. read more

Archer and the King of Jungle

The following story about an Archer and the King of Jungle.

 Long time ago, there was an archer who lived near the jungle. Every day he used to go to the deep of the jungle for hunting animals. He thought that Hunting became one of the great thing for him. He felt stronger when he could get animal by his hand. In his village, he was very famous as the dead shot of animals and he was skillful in hunting. He could shoot the target wherever he found the animals, although the distance was far away. (also read : The Wise and Smart King)

 One day in a sunny day, the birds was singing in the jungle. It made the sun was smiling in the sky. It was the beautiful day for the animals in the deep of the jungle. Unfortunately, they did not know that the dangerous was near with them.

 At that time, the archer prepared himself well for everything he needed. Included the bow and the arrows. He wanted to go to the deep of the jungle. He took the best arrows and the new bow in order to get more animals to bring to home. Then, when the sun was in the middle of the sky, he walked to the jungle.  Once upon a time there was a man who liked money very much. He worked all days and nights of his life and he wanted to save all of his money for his own future. He was a real miser when it came to his money. He loved money more than just about anything. He rare thought anything, except money. (also read : Mystery of Vanish in Love)

 One day, just before he died, he said to his wife; “Now listen to me my wife, when I die, I want you to take all my money and place it in the casket with me. I wanna take my money to the afterlife.” So he asked his wife to promise him with all her heart that when he died, she would put all the money in the casket with him.  The next following day, he really died. His wife fulfilled her promise as her husband asked. Then he was stretched out in the casket. The wife was sitting there in black clothes next to her closest friend. When they finished the ceremony, just before the undertakers got ready to close the casket, the wife said “Wait just a minute!” they stopped their working and looked at the wife’s corpse.  Once upon a time, there was a kingdom whom the king used to be gone over one king with another king every year. During the year, the king would live well in the kingdom. He had got everything he wanted so he lived in luxury. However, he should resign as the king after one year reigning in his kingdom. He should remove to the remote island to live there. That time was sad moment, the king was escorted to a remote island to stay. (also read : Abunawas Became a King)

 One day, it turned to find out a new king. The prime minister ordered the guards to announce to the people of the kingdom to the position as a king, however, there was no one interested to be a king because they were not to be expelled to remote island. 

 At last the guards found a young man named Frederick who agreed to be a king. After three days he became a king, he requested many guards and people accompany him to the island. Apparently, on the island were full of dense forests and wild animals. All the king who were sent to the island, had died from being eaten by wild animals.  Once upon a time there were seven girls who were being good friends in Serawak. They used to go everywhere together. One of them was Gayah. She was only the most beautiful, but also the cleverest. (also read : THE FROG PRINCE AND THE PRINCESS)

 One day they went to the jungle to collect some wild fruit. On their way, however, they lost their way. They were very afraid that they could not went back home. On their fear, Gayah said: “Don’t be afraid”. “I shall be able to find the way home back.”

 When the sun had set and night came, they saw a bright fire not far away from their position. For this they walked towards it. Coming the fire, they found a hut. One of them knocked the door of the hut.  The door suddenly was opened itself and behind it there was a little old woman sitting in front of it. They were very astonished.

 “Come in, please. I know you have lost your way,” the old woman said. “You must be hungry, although you certainly look quite fat and well fed. Hi, hi, hi! …… It is lucky that you found me. Have some of these cakes, my dears.” read more

 One day the king called wise men and asked them what to do to cure him.

 “I am so sorry, Your Majesty, there is only one way, however it is very easy to do.” said oldest of the wise men.

 After getting information from the wise men, the king sent his soldiers to search for a happy man around the kingdom. They travelled all over the kingdom. They had gone on and on but they couldn’t find a happy man.  Love Story of Jayaprana and Layonsari. Folklore from Bali. Once upon a time there was a small kingdom called Kali Anget. At one time the kingdom was plagued by deadly diseases which killed many of its people including most of the king’s family members. This made the King was very sad so he decided to visit his people to entertain himself and his people of his kingdom. At a crossroad he met a little boy who was crying for the loss of his parents and brothers. The king decided to adopt the boy since he had already lost all his children in the epidemic that swept through the kingdom. He took the boy to his palace and made arrangements for him to be one of his family. The king taught him to be a soldier to service the kingdom in the future. The boy’s name was Jayaprana.

 The king loved him as his own child and did everything to keep him happily. Still, as the boy grew to become a handsome adult Jayaprana decided not to interfere with others and approach life in a simple way, even though being the son of a King. read more
