Legend of Bojonegoro Regency

 Long time ago in the northern of Mount Kendeng, there was a kingdom called Malowopati Kingdom. The kingdom  was ruled by Prabu Anglingdarma. He was a wise and rich king. His face was handsome. He liked to meditate and wander in search of enlightenment of the soul. No wonder if he was as a king who was respected by friends and opponents because of his strength and supernatural powers. When Anglingdarma was young, he loved to wander. Many countries have been visited. All that he did to add insight, knowledge, and life experiences.

History of Blitar City

 Blitar City is located in the southern part of East Java Province, Indonesia. The city is located about 167 km south of Surabaya City. Blitar City is famous as the birthplace and burial of the first president of Republic of Indonesia, Ir. Soekarno. (Also read : Legend of Baturraden)

 Based on a number of history books, Blitar was a stretch of forest that was still untouched by humans. Nilasuwarna or Gusti Sudomo, the son of Duke Wilatika Tuban, at that time, carried out the task of the Majapahit Kingdom to crush the Tartar forces hiding in the southern forest (Blitar and its surroundings). Because, the Tartar army had carried out a number of rebellions which could threaten the existence of the Majapahit Kingdom.

 Luck was in favor of Nilasuwarna, he could drive the Tartar away. For his success, he was awarded the title as Duke of Aryo Blitar I to then lead the area that was successfully captured. Below is the story of the legend of Kastoba lake:

 Once upon a time there was a kingdom in Majeti Island (Old Bawean Island). The kingdom was reigned by Goblin. Every creature on this island obeyed him. The ruler of this island was very popular and respected by other kingdom surrounding of this this kingdom as he had a powerful strength for he had a virtuous tree, that they called this tree as Kastoba Tree.

 One day, the king ordered his trusted crew to call a female and male black raven to come over him. When the ravens were present, the Goblin said: “Hi Ravens, I am giving you a new hard assignment, are you going to do this assignment?”. They answered: “Yes we are, You Majesty”. The King trusted them as they used to succeed for any assignment. The King asked them to be quiet to anyone about what he was about to say and order. And both ravens agreed.  The King explained that their kingdom had a virtuous tree, and because of this tree, the kingdom was well respected. The tree’s name was Kastoba Tree. The root, stalk, leaves and branch were useful to solve any bad luck or disaster. One leave of the tree even could heal various diseases. Its flower could make body immune from anything.
