       Once upon a time, there was a kingdom in Arunachal Pradesh. The kingdom was ruled by a wise king. The king’s name was Darshan. He was also brave king. People in the kingdom him. Darshan was not only a wise and brave king, but also a kind king. The kingdom was prosperous. There was no hunger in this kingdom. It was a very peace condition.        One day there was a battle between the Arunachal Pradesh kingdom and other kingdom that wanted to rule the kingdom., Darshan had to fight against a large army with just a few soldiers, he was defeated. After fighting for a long time, finally Darshan and his soldiers were lost in the fighting. He had to run for his life.

       On the escape, Darshan took shelter in a forest cave. He was very depressed. His courage had left him. He was blankly gazing at the ceiling of the cave. Suddenly an interesting scene captured his attention. A small spider was trying to weave a web across the cave ceiling. As the spider crawled up, a thread of the web broke and the spider fell down. But the spider did not give up. He tried to climb again and again.       Long time ago in a wilderness (dense jungle) at East Java, there was a group of hijacker that they would rob anybody who passed through that jungle. The head of that hijacker named Ken Arok. He was a very strong young man who had no fear of everything even the tiger and evils spirit which lived in the wilderness.        One day, there was an old Brahmin named Lohgawe did journey and passed the jungle. He was actually looking for Ken Arok for special purpose that was educated him to be the king as it was destined.

      In the middle of the jungle, Ken Arok appeared and stopped Lohgawe.

      Ken Arok said: “Stop right there old man. You are now in my territory. If you want to pass this jungle alive then you have to give me your things.”

      Lohgawe said: “Are you Ken Arok?”

The following story about an Archer and the King of Jungle.

      Long time ago, there was an archer who lived near the jungle. Every day he used to go to the deep of the jungle for hunting animals. He thought that Hunting became one of the great thing for him. He felt stronger when he could get animal by his hand. In his village, he was very famous as the dead shot of animals and he was skillful in hunting. He could shoot the target wherever he found the animals, although the distance was far away.       One day in a sunny day, the birds was singing in the jungle. It made the sun was smiling in the sky. It was the beautiful day for the animals in the deep of the jungle. Unfortunately, they did not know that the dangerous was near with them.

      At that time, the archer prepared himself well for everything he needed. Included the bow and the arrows. He wanted to go to the deep of the jungle. He took the best arrows and the new bow in order to get more animals to bring to home. Then, when the sun was in the middle of the sky, he walked to the jungle.       Once upon a time, there was a cap seller was passing through a jungle. He would go to the market of the town for selling his caps. Because of his long journey, he was very tired and needed to rest. When he looked at a big tree, he decided to take a rest there. Then he stopped and spread a cloth under the tree. He placed his bag full of caps near him and lay down with his cap on his head. The cap seller slept and he had a sound sleep for one hour. When he got up, the first thing he did was to look into his bag. However, he was very startled when he found all his caps were not there. (also read : The Bird and Greedy Monkey)

      When he looked up the sky, he was very surprised to see some monkeys sitting on the branches of a tree, each of the monkeys was wearing a cap of on its head. They had evidently done it to imitate him. He thought what should he did to get his caps from the monkeys. Finally, he got an idea. He decided to get his caps back by making a humble request to the monkeys. In return, the monkeys only made faces of him. When he begun to make gesture, the monkeys also imitated him.       Another wise story given to the readers. It was The Bird and Greedy Monkey. 

      Once upon a time in the jungle there was a monkey. This monkey had very bad behavior. He was very lazy and greedy. Every day he used to steal some food from other people. Even though he had some food, he still did it and kept the stolen it in other place in order not to be seen. He did this because he was afraid when somebody else asked for some food to him. He was also very mean. “I must add a little more food so that I have a lot of it to eat and I will not be angry”, he said to himself.

      The days went on; the food in the island where he lived was getting less and less so that he decided to cross the sea to find other island. He did it because he didn’t want to be in starvation. (also read : The Shirt of a Happy Man)

      The following day he made a rowing boat. He cut some wood from the forest and began to make it. It was such a hard wood that he didn’t intend to continue because he was lazy. Then, he tried to find some other wood. This time lie had very soft wood. It made him easy to finish his job.         One day they went to the jungle to collect some wild fruit. On their way, however, they lost their way. They were very afraid that they could not went back home. On their fear, Gayah said: “Don’t be afraid”. “I shall be able to find the way home back.”

        When the sun had set and night came, they saw a bright fire not far away from their position. For this they walked towards it. Coming the fire, they found a hut. One of them knocked the door of the hut.  The door suddenly was opened itself and behind it there was a little old woman sitting in front of it. They were very astonished.

        “Come in, please. I know you have lost your way,” the old woman said. “You must be hungry, although you certainly look quite fat and well fed. Hi, hi, hi! …… It is lucky that you found me. Have some of these cakes, my dears.” read more
