The Legend of Lutung Kasarung

The Legend of Lutung Kasarung

The Legend of Lutung Kasarung. Once upon a time there was a kingdom in West Java. The kingdom was led by a king named Prabu Tapa Agung. He was getting old and therefore wanted to retire as a king. But unfortunately, he had no son to replace him as a king. He only had two daughters named Purbararang and Purbasari. He thought of choosing one of his daughters, Purbararang and Purbasari. But it wasn’t an easy choice. They were both very pretty and smart. The only difference was their temperament. Purbararang was rude and dishonest, while Purbasari was kind and caring. With those considerations, Prabu Tapa Agung finally wanted Purbasari to replace him.

Purbararang didn’t agree with her father’s decision. “You cannot appoint her to be the queen, Father. I’m older than she is. It’s supposed to be me as the queen, not her!” said Purbararang. Prabu Tapa Agung smiled. “Purbararang, to be a queen takes more than age. There are many other qualities that one must possess,” explained Prabu Tapa Agung wisely. “What does Purbasari have that I don’t?” Purbararang pouted. “You’ll find out when Purbasari has replaced me,” Prabu Tapa Agung answered. And the king still chose Purbasari to be the next queen. read more

However, he still wanted to have more power by meditating. So He planned to meditate on the top of a mountain to ask the gods to give him supernatural power. He then climbed one big mountain and started meditating on the top of the mountain.

Arjuna concentrated meditating very hard days and nights. He was not disturbed by anything around him. While he was meditating, suddenly the mountain was slowly getting bigger and higher. The mountain was so high that it finally touched the heaven. It was the home of the gods. The touching of the mountain made the heaven shaking. The gods and the goddesses were restless. Muhammad SAW My Beloved Prophet

Muhammad My Beloved Prophet

Muhammad SAW My Beloved Prophet

When I was in my little youth,

When Islam was only in my custom.

They said “say La IIaha IIIa Allah, …

And pray, you’ll go to Heaven.”

My mind said “How simple and no struggle in this, …

Just a word, and simple act I will go to Heaven.”

Thereafter I’m absorbed in this world again,

With my ‘assured’ place in Paradise intact.

But this was not to be my fate

For ALLAH chose to guide my heart.

I learnt of a man who struggled so hard

When his mission was from the start.

Spoke gently, kindness he knew.

Never fearing to say what’s right,

His conviction in ISLAM was true.

The touch of his hand was as soft as silk

To comfort a crying child.

To mend his clothes, or do the chores,

Never complaining, he always smiled.

A living he made with his bare hands,

The same that held his mighty sword.

Braveness shone from the edge of his blade,

His smell was always of fragrance,

And cleanliness he kept at his best.

Stark contrast with “the heroes” of today, read more

In this occasion, I will share about one supported skill, i.e: The Imperative Sentence.
There are some functions of imperative sentence in English, such as:
1. As an order,
2. As a warning,
3. As an appeal,
4. As an advice,
5. As a suggestion,
6. As an instruction
7. And in some cases as a request to another person, to a group of people or to animals.

It is very easy to form the imperative sentence: Simply take the verbs’ infinitive form (without the “to” infinitive indicator). Usually the verb will be placed at the beginning of the sentence.

V + C + !

The examples below are used if a person gives an order to another person or to a group of people.
