 Pembatalan pernikahan tersebut menimbulkan kekecewaan yang berat bagi sang ikhwan, dia sudah terlanjur sangat mencintai akhwat yang menjadi idamannya itu. It is said that WISH is the expression of someone’s feeling that one would like to have or do something or to see something happen; a desire, longing, or strong inclination for a specific thing. However, the function of “WISH” actually is not only as we have said above, but also there are also some function of WISH as below:

Wish + Simple Past Tense

“Wish” is used to talk about situations that we desire, but which are the opposite of the current reality or which are impossible. We can use wish + past tense to talk about our situation right now. Even though we use the past tense, we are NOT talking about the past.

For examples:

  • I wish I had a car. (In reality, I don’t have a car now, but I want one).
  • I wish I didn’t have to work tomorrow. (In reality, I have to work tomorrow, but I don’t want to).
  • I wish I were tall. (In reality, I’m short, but I want to be tall).

Wish + Past Continuous Tense

 The hawk at the top the hill would fly down everyday in search of food. The crow watched the hawk circling in the air for long hours and swooping down when he saw his prey. The hawk gifted with eyes that could see long distances would spot his prey from the hill top and then fly down to pounce upon the prey.

 Madiun Regency, based on a legitimate government, was established on the first half of the month, in Muharam, in 1568 precisely on Thursday, 18 July 1568. It began during the Demak Sultanate, which was marked by the marriage of Prince Pangeran Surya Patiunus from Demak to Raden Ayu Retno Lembah daughter of the Duke Adipati Gugur from Ngurawan, Dolopo.  The government center was moved from Ngurawan to Sogaten village with a new name “Purabaya” (known as Madiun now). Pangeran Surya Patiunus occupied the sultanate until 1521 and was continued by Kyai Rekso Gati. (Sogaten = place of Rekso Gati).

 Pangeran Timur was appointed as the Regent of Purabaya on July 18, 1568 with a government center in the village of Sogaten. Since then the formal juridical Purabaya Regency had become a government area under a regent and ended the oversight government in Purabaya held by Kyai Rekso Gati in the name of Demak from 1518 – 1568. read more
