Roddy is my friend since we are kids.

We are neighbors and we always go to the same school. Roddy is taller than me. He has blonde hair and a pointed nose. His favorite food is hamburgers with fries and coke. We often playing video games together in my house. But sometimes we love swimming in the water park near our neighborhood. Roddy and I are best friends forever. My Aunt Amelia

Of all my relatives, I like my aunt Amelia the best. She’s my mother’s youngest sister. She hasn’t been married and she lives alone in a small village near Bath. She is in her late forties but she’s still quite young in spirit. She has curly hair and deep blue eyes. She has a kind face, and when you meet her, the first thing you notice about her is her warm, friendly smile. She is the kind of person you can always go to if you have a problem.

Aunt Amelia likes reading and gardening, and she likes to take her cat, Cathy, for long walks in the park. She’s a very active person. Either she’s making something or doing something to help others. She does the shopping for some of the old people in the village. She’s extremely generous, but not very tolerant of people who don’t agree with her. I hope that I am as contented as she is when I am her age.

Ross

My father bought me a present I’ve wanted for years. It’s a dog. A puppy to be exact. I called him Ross.

Ross is a small puppy. His size is as big as the palm of my hand. Ross is so fragile. Sometimes I afraid I will hurt him if I want to take him up. Dad said he found Ross near our house, crying looking for his mom. But Dad can’t see her, so Dad decides to bring him home and give him some comfort. Ross is a good eater. He always finished everything we gave him. Now, it’s been a year since Ross come to our family. His small body has grown up into the size of a football ball. Ross is a good dog, and we love him so much.

Sphynx Cats

My Sphynx cat is the only pet I have. He has a little hair but is not totally hairless as he has a peach fuzz over much of his body. His coat is often a warm chamois. My Sphynx has a normal cat proportion.

I like his tail although my father says that it is like a rat’s tail. I love his usual color varieties including, tortoiseshell, black, chocolate, blue, lilac,  etc. He is really an amazing cat. Believe it or not, he is a very intelligent cat. He can respond by voice commands.

He is really funny as well as my friends get a joke. I love him so much as I love my father.

The City of Rome

Italy has some famous cities. One of them is Rome.

It is a very historic city. If you visit Rome, you will have plenty of chances to see all sorts of great sights. Rome can be traced through its mythology when it was founded on. It was said that twins of Romulus and Remus has founded the city in 753 BC, on the date of April 21st. This corresponds fairly closely to archeological evidence, which shows farming communities in the area. As the Catholic Church grew, Rome became more and more important in both religion and politics. Cendrawasih ( birds-of-paradise )

Cendrawasih ( birds-of-paradise ) are members of the family Paradisaeidae of the order Passeriformes. The majority of species are found in eastern Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, and eastern Australia. The family has 42 species in 14 genera. The members of this family are perhaps best known for the plumage of the males of the sexually dimorphic species (the majority), in particular the highly elongated and elaborate feathers extending from the beak, wings, tail, or head. For the most part, they are confined to dense rainforest habitat. The diet of all species is dominated by fruit and to a lesser extent arthropods. The birds-of-paradise have a variety of breeding systems, ranging from monogamy to lek-type polygamy.

My Favorite T-Shirt

Do you like to wear a T-shirt? Well, I do. One of my favorite T-shirt is the one that I bought when I was in Senior High School six years ago. At that time, I won a Scrabble competition, and the prize is money. I bought the T-shirt with this money. I like it because it is very comfy.

The color of my favorite T-shirt is yellow. It is made of cotton. Right now, the color is not as bright as it used to be, but the picture printed on the front side is still as good as it was. It is a picture of a microphone known as “Elvis Microphone”.  The color of the picture is gray.

The condition of the T-shirt is not as perfect as it was, because right now there are some holes on the T-shirt. One of the biggest holes is located on my back. My sister said that I look like a homeless boy every time I wear this T-shirt.

My Bedroom

My bedroom is my favorite room. Its wall color is blue, which is my favorite color. It has one comfortable bed that faces the window. Every morning the sun shines through my window and wakes me up. On the corner of the room is my desk where I usually study and do my homework. 

Besides that desk is a big wardrobe where I put all of my clothes. My father made the wardrobe for me as my birthday gift. On the left side of the desk, there is a bookshelf where I put all of my favorite books. On the desk, there is a table lamp, laptop, stationery, and a notebook. Rose

The rose is a type of flowering shrub. Its name comes from the Latin word Rosa. The flowers of the rose grow in many different colors, from the well-known red rose to yellow roses and sometimes white or purple roses. Roses belong to the family of plants called Rosaceae. All roses were originally wild and they come from several parts of the world, North America, Europe, northwest Africa, and many parts of Asia and Oceania. There are over 100 different species of roses.

The wild rose species can be grown in gardens, but most garden roses are cultivars, which have been chosen by people. Over hundreds of years, they have been specially bred to produce a wide variety of growing habits and a broad range of colors from dark red to white including as well yellow and a bluish/lilac color. Many roses have a strong, pleasant scent. Most roses have prickles (incorrectly called thorns) on their stems. Rose bushes are able to tolerate a wide variety of growing conditions. The fruit of the rose is called a hip. Some roses have decorative hips. Roses are widely used across the world as symbols of love, sympathy, or sorrow. Rose is widely used as a girl’s name. Also, roses protect themselves from other predators trying to hunt them with thorns, a widely known defense system.

My Best friend, Gilang

Gilang is one of the 150 International students at the ELC of Brigham Young University. He is from Indonesia. He grew up in Indonesia, and he is 19 years old. There are five people in his family, a father, a mother, sisters, a brother, and himself.

He is the second child in his family. Now he is in Kedoya, Jakarta Barat, working in Telkom Indonesia. Gilang likes Indonesia very much and he thinks everything is cheap.

Gilang thinks his jobs are excellent and his partner is so professionals. Gilang thinks someone in his office is annoying so the low key doesn’t like that.

In his free time, he spends too much time sleeping, so it seems that he has a sleeping sickness.

Jember Regency

Jember is a regency in East Java. It is located in between Bondowoso and Banyuwangi. Banyuwangi is a regency that is located at the easternmost end of Java Island, before Bali Strait, so that we can know that Jember is near enough from Bali Island.

Jember is a beautiful place. In Jember, there are a lot of interesting places to visit, such as Papuma Beach, Watu Ulo Beach, Watu Ondo, Pancer Beach, Rembangan, and so on. Jember also has a famous carnival, named Jember Fashion Carnaval. It is an international annual fashion carnival which usually held in August. Besides some beautiful places and a famous carnival, Jember also has a unique culture. People usually called it as Pendhalungan. Pendhalungan is an acculturation culture between Javanese and Maduranese. Jember has a total area of 3,293.34 km2. Because of that, it creates a different culture between North Jember and South Jember. In North Jember, there are a lot of Maduranese people and they usually speak Maduranese. On the other hand, In South Jember, not many Maduranese people live there. It is dominated by Javanese people. Because of that, it creates a new unique language that other regencies do not have.
