Recreation to Madakaripura Waterfall

Recreation to Madakaripura Waterfall. After long time I have not shared about recreation, I think this time for me to share about recreation place. And in this occasion, I want to share about a place for recreation in Probolinggo’s area. The place is Madakaripura Waterfall.

Entering Probolinggo, after enjoying the beautiful panorama of Mount Bromo, you can enjoy other spectacular charming scenery, but it is still outlying of Probolinggo’ area. It is Madakaripura Waterfall. This Waterfall is charming. This waterfall is located in Sapeh village, Lumbang sub-district, Probolinggo district, East Java.

Madakaripura Waterfall is near from Bromo Mountain area. If you visit Bromo Mountain and enjoy the sunrise tour to do climbing package that starts at 4 o’clock in the morning and then continues towards Mount Bromo, my estimate, you will enjoy all the package and you will be satisfied with the scenery of Bromo Mountain until 10.00 am / 11.00 am, so you can go directly to the waterfall of Madakaripura after enjoying the beauty of Mount Bromo, this waterfall can be Your access to the same as the time you come home from bromo mountain into the city of Probolinggo, you will find a junction to the waterfall madakaripura, it is easy to find the location of the waterfall. There is a statue of Gajahmada, Prime Minister of Gajah Mada, in the middle of the junction, then follow the right path to continue to the waterfall.

The location of Madakaripura Waterfall can be reached about 3 or 4 hours from the city of Surabaya. From Surabaya you can go to Sidoarjo, then to Porong – Pasuruan – Probolinggo. When you arrive to Tongas, follow the sign to Bromo mountain or Madakaripura Waterfall. It is about 25 to 30 minutes from Tongas Sub-district to Lumbang Sub-district, and then follow the sign given. However, you should be careful after reaching junction because the last 3 km towards the waterfall, the path of asphalt will be slightly narrowed, and the size of the width of one car only, the characteristics of the road, winding, uphill, a little hollow, but the view is presented leading to the waterfall is quite wonderful, so your feeling of tired can be paid on the way to this waterfall.

Believed to be the final meditation place of military Prime Ministry, Gajah Mada of the great Javanese kingdom of Majapahit in East Java, the towering waterfall is fondly dubbed the eternal waterfall, since its water never ceases to pour down an endless rains of blessings on those fortunate enough to walk underneath it.

Atmosphere of natural grandeur radiates around as the waterfall comes into view. As the rumbling sounds of water grows louder, a spellbinding feature of water curtains cover the path, that will not only please the eyes but also freshen body and soul. Here, nature gracefully pours her endless refreshing gifts, making getting wet quite inevitable. While it may be best to be ready with raincoats or umbrellas, stalls along the trekking path will offer umbrella rentals and plastic bags to protect valuables, such as cameras.

The path ends in a surreal tube like valley where the staggering 200 meters’ gallant waterfall highlights the scene. Decorated with a cave on the wall which was believed to be the exact location where Gajah Mada performed his last meditation, Madakaripura Waterfall is even dubbed as the tallest waterfall in Java and the second tallest waterfall in Indonesia after Sigura-gura Waterfall near Lake Toba, North Sumatra.

The water looks so fresh. Surrounded by outstandingly high walls, the fall flows down into an almost mystical natural chamber. Inside the 200 meters “chamber”, the reflected sunlight shining through onto the wet green moss on the rocky wall accompanied by the ever rumbling sounds of water creates a spectacle unlikely found elsewhere. Decorated with huge boulders, endlessly falling water, and sparkling moss, one only needs to gaze up to the distant sky and immerse oneself in the spellbinding beauty of nature. While the fascinating scene can be captured on camera, the true sensation of being in one of the most outstanding places on earth can only be felt by being there.

So welcome to Madakaripura Waterfall and enjoy the place.
